Flower Sunday

Dating back to 1875, Flower Sunday is the oldest tradition at Wellesley.

Each year in the fall, all entering students are matched with a Wellesley big sister. On Flower Sunday, first-year students receive flowers from their Wellesley big sister as an 'official' welcome into the community, and together they come to the flower-filled Houghton Chapel and Multifaith Center for a wonderful multifaith program.
