Who is eligible? (Varies by program)*

• Graduating seniors and graduates
• Non-Chinese citizens in good health; and
• For the master’s degree program: those who have a Bachelor’s degree and are under the age of 35.

How do I apply?

• Before proceeding with your application, it is important to discuss your plans with Kate Dailinger, Program Director, Fellowships. Appointments are made online through Handshake. (Cannot find an available appointment? Drop by Fellowships Pop-Up Advising: no appointment required. See ourEvents listingsfor details of virtual pop-ups.)
• Applicants for a Chinese Government Scholarship must first apply for Wellesley's nomination for the Scholarship.

Application checklist

☐ Two letters of reference (these should be academic references relevant to the proposed program of study; please request that letters be submitted by their writers, as pdfs of signed texts on letterhead, viathis link: should they have any difficulty with the link, please ask them to email their letters tofellowships@wellesley.edu).

☐ Copy of the official online Chinese Government Scholarship application form (find the official brief about study in China, as well as application instructions for study in 2022-23, seehere), with all required supporting materials, including, e.g.:

☐Statement of interest (one page) describing how this year of study will fit in with your goals for the future, and why you chose the one or two semester program.

☐ Study plan (see online application)

☐ In place of the "highest diploma or graduation certificate" please request a formal enrollment verification (including current enrollment status and expected date of graduation; see online application; request enrollment verifcation according to the instruction on the Wellesley College Registrar'swebsite)

☐ Official transcript(s) - please request that one official hardcopy of your Wellesley College transcript, along with any other applicable college transcripts (e.g., from a transfer or study abroad institution), be sent to Katherine Dailinger, Fellowship Programs, Wellesley College Career Education, Green Hall 441, 106 Central Street, Wellesley, MA 02481. These must arrive as close to the campus application deadline as possible: this can take more time than you expect, so please plan ahead!

☐Wellesley Fellowships office signature document(Please print, sign & date this form, then submit a scanned pdf or other image of the signed document along with your application materials. If you do not have access to a printer, an e-signature will suffice.)

***Note that nominees will also need a medical form and certification that they have no criminal record, so please plan ahead - and contact the Fellowships office for further advice.

Application timeline

Campus application deadline: 11:30 pm on Monday, January 18, 2021.
Applicants should submit the required materials by the campus deadline, via the Google formhere. Please request that letters of reference be submitted by their writers viathis link(should they have any difficulty with the link, please ask them to email their letters tofellowships@wellesley.edu). Don’t forget to request official transcripts be mailed to the Fellowships office.

A campus committee will review applications, and will typically interview candidates before deciding on up to two applications to nominate to go forward.
